Is the Alvin Sherman Library card the same as a Broward Library card?

Broward County library and Alvin Sherman Library have a unique partnership. They do not have the same card, but you can check out books at the Alvin Sherman Library and return them to any Broward County Library location. Visit lib.nova.edu/card for more information. I don’t have an Alvin Sherman Library Card or SharkCard – what should I do? 

Alvin Sherman Library cards are free to anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Broward County. SharkCards are for NSU staff. 

Apply at lib.nova.edu/card.

Can I still participate in StoryFest if I don’t live, work or go to school in Broward County? 

Yes, this event is open to everyone. Prize drawing eligibility and is limited to residents of the Tri- County area. 

What are the Terms and Conditions for prizes?

This giveaway period starts March 5, 2023 and ends on March 12, 2023, midnight.

  • A prize winner may not assign, sell, or otherwise transfer their prize to another person. No cash redemptions will be allowed.

  • Prize winners will be notified via email and or phone with instructions on how to claim the prize. Prize winners will need to complete a Prize Receipt form

  • In the event a potential winner is unable to be reached, the Alvin Sherman Library at its sole discretion will select and choose an alternate winner in a random drawing from among the eligible entries.
     

Will we get a free book?

Yes, local attendees who register for StoryFest  are eligible to pick up a free children’s book at the NSU Alvin Sherman Library on March 5, 2023 while supplies last).  

Does my child need to be present to get a free book?

Yes

Do you have books for older readers? 
Yes! We will have book selections for preschool, elementary, and middle school students (while supplies last).
