Do I need to bring my Alvin Sherman Library card or SharkCard to StoryFest?
It will not be required, but we encourage you to bring your Alvin Sherman Library card or SharkCard to StoryFest for a chance to win prizes! Winner will be notified by email.
Is the Alvin Sherman Library card the same as a Broward Library card?
Broward County library and Alvin Sherman Library have a unique partnership. They do not have the same card, but you can check out books at the Alvin Sherman Library return them to any Broward County Library location. Visit public.library.nova.edu/card for more information. If you don't already have an Alvin Sherman Library card, sign up for one at StoryFest!
I don’t have an Alvin Sherman Library Card or SharkCard – what should I do?
Alvin Sherman Library cards are free to anyone who lives, works or goes to school in Broward County. SharkCards are for NSU staff.
Option 1. Apply at lib.nova.edu/cardform/. Your card will be ready for pick up prior to StoryFest at the library’s Circulation Desk on the first floor.
Option 2. Apply at StoryFest! Look for the library card sign-up table on the library’s lawn (or you can also sign-up inside the library at the Circulation Desk).
I lost my Alvin Sherman Library card – what should I do?
Call our Circulation Department (954-262-4601) and report your card lost or stolen. Replacement cards are one dollar ($1).
If you do not get a replacement card prior to StoryFest, we can look up your information (bring ID) to enter you in the drawing.
Can I still attend StoryFest if I don’t live, work or go to school in Broward County?
Yes, the event is open to everyone.

As a part of this library event, photographers and videographers from Nova Southeastern University and the Alvin Sherman Library will be present to capture and memorialize the event. It is possible that these photographs and videos will be used to advertise future editions of programs as well as other events at the Alvin Sherman Library. If you do not wish for your image or likeness to be used for future advertising purposes please tell any person who is attempting to take photos or video of you not to take your photo, and please avoid areas where it is obvious that photos or video footage is being taken. If you do enter these areas or allow photo or video capture of your image and likeness you are consenting to its future use by Nova Southeastern University or the Alvin Sherman Library.
