Debut author and Grammy-nominated children's music creator Pierce Freelon and his band share a blend of hip hop, soul and electronic music to convey positive messages to kids.
Pierce breaks away from tradition to introduce a blend of imagination, arts, science and technology through a Black lens. His new album, Black to the Future, is inspired by Afrofuturism and features the voices of four generations of his magnificently creative family. As a skilled beat maker, Freelon thrives in sampling sounds from his environment and incorporating it into his music. Pierce will also share behind the scenes stories for his upcoming picture book, based on the hit song Daddy Daughter Day from his first album D.A.D.
